Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Reserve is produced only in the best vintages. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, selected from the vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, in Montalcino.
The grapes are harvested in the months of September/October when they reach ideal ripeness. They are vinified in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures and undergo the customary long period of maceration and pump overs..
Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in large Slavonia oak barrels for about 36 months. It is subsequently bottled and aged in the bottle until it reaches the total period of 5 years of ageing.
It is released on the market in the 6th year after the harvest.
